After My Daughter Destiny passed away I knew I wanted to do something to honor my beautiful daughter, but I didn’t know what I wanted to do.

I tossed a couple ideas back and forth in my head. It wasn’t until I heard about the passing of a beautiful young girl named Marisa, who had received Destiny’s lungs that I knew what our mission would be.

Marisa was in the hospital for two months recovering from a double lung transplant. Her mom left work for two months to be with Marisa hundreds of miles away from home. In addition to worrying about and medical bills and other home expenses, Marissa’s mother had to worry about paying for her daughter’s funeral.

That’s when I knew what my goal was for the Destiny Lives On Foundation. Not only did I want to promote and educate people about organ donation, but I also wanted to help families such as Marissa’s.

I want to one day be able to pay for an entire funeral of lost loved ones who chose to let others live on through organ donation or to help those pay for medication and medical bills after a transplant. I want to change peoples minds about organ donation. I want to others to have a chance at life.
